Can you please supply your install and zmsetup logs? I can't see how one would get into the situation you've arrived at.

I just realised that I screwed up the config during the install - I skipped the config step completely. I've now reinstalled CentOS and have got Zimbra working - I'm over the moon with it.

Since the reply doesn't work, I'll post line by line my reply:-

Having exactly the same problem, have tried every permutation for the ldap_url, ldap_master_url, zimbra_server_hostname but still to no avail...

    ldap_url = ldap://<>:389
    http://<>:389
    ldap://>

Same with the master_ldap_url - tried everything

    ldap_port is set to 389
    zimbra_server_hostname is set to <>

When running zmcontrol start (as zimbra user)

    Host <>
Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Unable to determine enabled services. Cache is out of date or doesn't exist.

Have changed all of /opt/zimbra/ to zimbra:zimbra and then ran /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms as root - still to no avail

I ran zmldapinit (as zimbra user) and got several errors and was never to get past the error on line 160 which related to master_ldap_url and various responses:-

IO::Socket::INET: connect: Connection refused at ./zmldapinit line 160.
    Died at ./zmldapinit line 160.
IO::Socket::INET: connect: Connection refused at ./zmldapinit line 160.

And yes /etc/resolv.conf + /etc/hosts.info are set correctly.
And also - no other ldap service running on server - port 389 is clear
    And yes Selinux is off
And yes Sendmail is switched off

After running unsuccesful zmldapinit and then running zmcontrol start again, I get this instead:-

    Host <>
    Starting ldap...Done.
    FAILED
Failed to start slapd. Attempting debug start to determine error.
TLS: error:0200A002:system librarypendir:No such file or directory ssl_cert.c:816
    TLS: error:140D7002:SSL routines:SSL_add_dir_cert_subjects_to_stack:system lib ssl_cert.c:818
main: TLS init def ctx failed: -1

Can anyone shed light on this? What is ldap_master_url meant to be? None of the permutations seem to work....

This forum works just about as well the zimbra server itself - I had to break up my reply into 6 separate parts before it would get posted....

And then the host information submitted gets scrubbed out...
