Default can't connect to briefcase webdav

    I'm trying to use:

    http://10.1.1.11/service/dav/tbarnhill

but I can't get connected. I can't use https because we're not using security on the mail server. Can I not connect via just http? Can I do a self signed certificate?

    thanks,

    tony

    tail -f /opt/zimbra/zmmailboxd.out & /opt/zimbra/mailbox.log as you do it.
What thick-client, browser, or operating system are you using to connect?

can someone mark this thread as solved. I was running into the same issue and went through several threads before I found the correct syntax. A "solved" thread would've cut down my searching. Thanks!

So what is the correct syntax? http://server/dav/user/briefcase returns what looks like WebDAV code in a browser, but I cannot get it connecting from XP.

In XP I can get it to request a user name and password, but it won't authenticate. In Leopard, though, it just works.

    Hello Guys,

We have also issues connecting to the briefcase with Webdav on WinXP. We are using the latest version 5.0.6.

ALready tried al the several suggested url's:
    http://servername/dav/username
    http://servername/service/dav/username
    http://servername/dav/username@domain
    etc ..

When we try to connect we have to authenticate, after that we just get a bunch of text what looks like XML.

    Thanks!

    Fonzie,

    See these threads:
    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/adminis...iefcase-4.html
Bug 24278 - Windows WebDav Client Is Broken
    Particularly the bugzilla entry.

To summarise the correct URL is:
    server/dav/user
use user@domain if you have more than one domain on the server.

Secondly, MS Office modifies XP's webdav and essentially makes it incompatible with anything non-MS. Sound familiar? To solve this, the default webfolder install needs to be forced. A "downgrade"? See the bugzilla entry for this.

    Hello John,

Thank you for your reply, after the downgrade I was able to add the briefcase as a network drive.

Is it normal that I get warnings and error messages when I try to upload a new file to the share?

    Thanks.

    W.
