    Default samba ldap pam.d problem

i have tried to setup zimbra in a vm setup with ubuntu 6.06lts server probably 26 times in the last week.

zimbra installs and configures fine. i have no problems with that. what i'm having a problem with is the configuration in greg's how to for integrating posix/samba. i've run through these steps so many times my head is spinning and i used to have a head full of hair and don't anymore.

i can't seem to get the new posix groups that are created in the posix ext in zimbra to appear in the getent groups list that comes out after running that command. i don't know why this is. i've read and read and re-read everything so much my eyeballs are falling out.

please! does someone have an answer to this problem? if so care to share?

    tia

What do your pam config files look like? (You can email them to me at greg - @ - Zimbra -dot-com if you don't want to post on the forums).

don't think i have to email them cause they look just like what you've posted. that is if you're referring to the common-auth, common password files like that.

I am going to rerun the setup to see what's going on.

thanks for the replies and efforts. they are appreciated.

please note that i 'replaced' the one or two lines, depending on the file, to "make it look like these", as you have in the how-to.
