Default [SOLVED] need help with 2 errors

I am testing zimbra and getting it setup to use in a private school setting. I have a couple of issues and cant seem to find out how to reslove them.
first, I installed and uninstalled several times and tried different setups. This time around I cant seem to pull mail from the user and download it into thunderbird mail client. It logs in and then does nothing. The setup is the same for the client as it has been in the first few installs... any ideas where to look?
second, when I log in I get a security message telling me the certificate for the site is for domain.net but I am trying to log into mail.domain.net do you want to accept?
well, I wanted to create a new certificate and get an error message ea time.
    looks like this

Message: system failure: exception during auth {RemoteManager: barronsfamily.net->zimbra@barronsfamily.net:22} Error code: service.FAILURE Method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke Details:soap:Receiver

this happens when I also want to view mail queues.......
If I can get past these 2 errors I will be on my way... I was able to get fetchmail to access an outside account and dump into a user which is how I want to set it up.
thanks for any help you can give...

Bill, these two issues might very well be related. Since you say you have installed and reinstalled a couple of times, it is likely that a new cert. was generated on installation each time. If you had browsed to the server or connected using Thunderbird with any of the previous installations, they could already have a certificate on record for that hostname and ip address, and now because of your new installation a different cert. is being presented. I believe I have seen in the past with Thunderbird (as well as Firefox) that it just presents a blank screen when you have a bad certificate. Try deleting the old certificates (really ANY certificate with that hostname) from your client machines, then try to connect again.

As to the issue of mail.domain.net vs. domain.net, you could just point your browser or client to domain.net, I suppose. But to really solve that part of the problem I'll have to defer to some of the other experts.

Hey, one for two is a start, eh?

Try this for the other issue - assuming you're using the standard ssh port:
    1. Check /etc/sshd_config and be sure it's set to 22
    2. stop/start/restart sshd
    Code:
    /etc/init.d/ssh restart
    3. su - zimbra
    4. Be sure zimbra's ssh port is set to 22
    Code:
    zmprov ms server.domain.com zimbraRemoteManagementPort 22
    5. Generate new ssh keys
    Code:
    cd /opt/zimbra/bin/
    ./zmsshkeygen
    6. Deploy the keys
    Code:
    ./zmupdateauthkeys
To test this, you can run the following command:
    ssh -vi .ssh/zimbra_identity -o strictHostKeyChecking=no zimbra@server.domain.com -p 22
-Shouldn't prompt you for a password at this point...then check the admin console mail queues area.
