    Hi,

I dont have SELinux nor firewall (iptables?)

Could we increase the log level in zmmailboxd.out ? There is clearly the error but we need more details about it.

    Thx.

Looks to me like something's running on port 80

can you telnet to localhost 80? If so, then shut down what ever is running (most likely httpd)

    BINGO!

That solved the problem! I had apache running on that port.
A simple solution but with a lot of imagination, nowhere says about port 80.

Only one question: Does that mean I really need to close my APACHE?

    Thanks.

    Nope.

Either run Zimbra on 443 (https) or run apache on https.

They can run together, just not on the same port.

hmm that solved my problem, but now I have to fix Apache to play nicely in the sandbox with Zimbra ahh well at least the server is back running.

    Thanks for all your help

I have the same problem: mailbox and zmmailboxdctl not running!

I'm trying to get my hands dirty with zimbra since a couple of days. A power failure occurs this morning and i guess i've an unclean shutdown of the system. The log says that there is a staled pid for mailboxd ....

    I'm on Debian 4.

Is there any known fix for this?
    Many thanks

Make sure everything is shutdown, Zimbra wise, then remove the PID and start up again. Once done that check your Log Files - Zimbra :: Wiki

If your still have a problem please open a new thread instead of resurrecting a solved one as that would help everyone Thank you.

Was trying to delete the message

    Sorry.
Problem solved after having seen page 2 of this thread.
Apache was running and once stopped, everything is OK now.

    Tx
