Bear with me, because i'm a noob to both Linux AND zimbra. I'm trying to install zimbra on Ubuntu 8.04, and I know it's not supported on that, but I understand that many people can get it to work with some modifications.
In any case, the part i'm hazy on is the hosts file.
i want it to look like this
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
x.x.x.x (myservername).(randomdomain.gov/com/edu/etc.) (myservername)
x.x.x.x (same as above) (newname.ourexternaldomain.gov/com/edu/etc.)
I know that might be hard to follow, but basically, i want to just enter in servername.random domain name (since it's not really on a domain) for the server name, and then on the third name enter in the same internal ip again but this time with the external fully qualified domain name, which would be configured on our dns. does that make sense?
Sorry for the confusion!
