    Default Problems in Installation Initializing LDAP....FAILED(256)

    Hello im new here and in using ZIMBRA. I just want to ask if what shall i do because i have encountered an error in my installation of Zimbra in my RED HAT version 3 Server it says.

    initializing LDAP.... FAILED(256)

    can you provide me of the step to step procedures in resolving this issue? One more thing my nameserver(domain) runs on a windows 2000 OS will Zimbra work on this setup? thanks.

    Im also new in using LINUX environment i hope you can provide me a lot of help and patience. thanks again.

    Well you'll need to use Red Hat EL4. We don't support Red Hat EL3

    OK. How about FC4? I also tried installing it on a FC4 environment SAME ISSUE was Encountered. thanks again

    This is one of the most common errors.

    Subsequently, it's one of the most discussed errors on our forums.

    And there's a search button... So, my first suggestion would be that you search the forums, and run through the things that have been found to fix your problem...
