Problem sending and Receiving mail
I'm having problems sending and receiving mail
Public IP: 22.214.171.124
Private IP - Zimbra Server: 10.0.0.8
Portforwarding on my firewall:
ports 25(smtp),389(ldap),7025(lmtp),80(web) and 143(IMAP)
All forwarding from 126.96.36.199 to 10.0.0.8
my hosts file looks as follows
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
10.0.0.8 mail.myguidetravel.com mail
And I have mx and a records setup
In the MTA
If I have "Enable DNS Lookup" set to off
Mail does not go out, but I can receive mail fine.
I get the following error in the Logs in relation to sending mail
Mar 3 12:59:23 mail postfix/smtp: 44F698407C: to=<firstname.lastname@example.org>, relay=none, delay=90, status=deferred (connect to gmail.com[188.8.131.52]: Connection timed out)
If I have "Enable DNS Lookup" set to on
Mail goes out fine, but I can not receive mail.
I get the following error in the Logs in relation to receiving mail
Mar 3 13:11:43 mail postfix/lmtp: 5DF2F84074: to=<email@example.com>, relay=none, delay=191, status=deferred (connect to mail.myguidetravel.com[184.108.40.206]: Connection timed out)
Any idea why this might be happening.

For anyone using Smoothwall Firewall
The firewall we use is Smoothwall www.smoothwall.net
We are using Smoothwall Corportate server 3.0
After contacting there Technical support, I was told there is no way around this on Smoothwall Corporate server 3.0, as it is part of an antispoofing mechanism.
However they have told me, there is an easy work around on the Smoothwall Advance Firewall vesion 4.
So I will be moving to that this week.
For the moment to get mail sending and receiving
I turned off "Enable DNS lookup" in the MTA and also on the same page
I set "Relay MTA for external delivery" to our ISP's SMTP server as suggested by marcmac
Sending and Receiving mail is working now.
