    Default 64bit Server problem?

    Hi,

    I have a HP-380 G2 server which is a 64bit server.

I have tested the zcs3.01_GA160 with installing FC4 without any problem.

But it came up problem on loading admin console using the same zimbra version with installing on SUSEES9 32bit OS.

I found some threads which were talking about zimbra is not supporting on a 64bit server. I am sure is it the same case to me.

Did you install the FC4 version on a suse machine? That won't work. Neither will a 64 bit install.

No, I used the correct version zcs-3.0.1_GA_160.SuSEES9.

    zimbra@mailsrv:~> zmcontrol -v

You need to compile from source if your using 64bit. It's not compiled for 64bit today.
Looking for new beta users -> Co-Founder of Acompli. Previously worked at Zimbra (and Yahoo! & VMware) since 2005.

If you're 64bit platform has 32bit compatibility, it works just fine (with some TLC involved).

The only real kickers are the perl scripts, which try to load 32bit modules into a 64bit Perl. That tends to explode. Solve that by providing all the needed modules in your 64bit site perl and it works fine.

That said I've only done it on one 64bit platofrm so far:

    - HP DL 145 DC Opteron
    - RHEL 4 x86_64 xen0
    - RHEL x86_64 xenU + Zimbra.

Seems rock solid (once you bash perl into shape). Give me another week or three and maybe I'll know if it really is rock solid.
