Thumbs up Trouble in zimbra Mysql

    Dear Expert,

    how about such error :

    [zimbra@svrmaila ~]$ /opt/zimbra/mysql/libexec/mysqld
080910 12:46:07 InnoDB: Operating system error number 13 in a file operation.
InnoDB: The error means mysqld does not have the access rights to
    InnoDB: the directory.
    InnoDB: File name ./ibdata1
    InnoDB: File operation call: 'open'.
    InnoDB: Cannot continue operation.

I don't know how to resolve this issue, I'm using redhat linux but I got the problem in mysql.server and file mysql.sock is missing, and error like this :

    [zimbra@svrmaila ~]$ /opt/zimbra/bin/mysql start
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/opt/zimbra/db/mysql.sock' (2)

zmcontrol status said that mysql.server is not running

please help me, I need your advice
    Thank's

Try running /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms as the root user while the Zimbra services are stopped.

the mysql.sock file is created when the mysql service starts so it is understandable that it would be missing.

What is the output of the following two commands?
    Code:
    ls -l /opt/zimbra/db/mysql*
    Code:
    ps aux | grep mysql

Ok that output means that you have no running mysql services (not even non-zimbra ones).

Did you change the OS on one server from red hat to Fedora and mysql still wont start, or is a different server now also having trouble starting mysql?
