    Default Routable FQDN?

It seems I need a routable FQDN to install Zimbra which leaves out hostname.local (not routable). I am using Zimbra for my home network, I really don't want to have to go to the trouble of setting up local DNS or anything like that. Do I have any options?

Yes setup a local DNS ZCS requires the ability to find a MX record for your domain which /etc/hosts cannot provide. I run a home server and it really is not that difficult to setup. We can help

I'm actually not looking to do any MX setup either...I just want to use Zimbra to rehost two (external) POP3 accounts as local IMAP accounts!

I just loaded bind9 onto my Ubuntu 8.04 system, configuring a local domain now. I'll let you know how it goes!

Good luck ZCS does require a MX for a internal domain but I am sure you will sort that Its well worth it in the end.
