Default [SOLVED] Need to Uninstall foreign language support

I have a zimbra oss installed and realize I'm running out of room on the partition. I think I can recover a lot of space, until I get a permanent fix by adding a drive, by uninstalling or deleting all the non english help support.

Is there a particular method for this, or will simply deleting the directories be OK?

    i.e., rm -R /mnt/hgfs/vmzimbak/zimbra/jetty-6.1.5/webapps/zimbra/help/es
    rm -R /mnt/hgfs/vmzimbak/zimbra/jetty-6.1.5/webapps/zimbra/help/de
and do the same for all the non english languages?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Not a good idea ... You would be better identifying what directories are not now being used in /opt/zimbra. Have a look at where the symlink for Postfix, DSPAM etc are pointing too. You will find that if you have been upgrading ZCS old versions of these directories/files will be present. These can be cleaned up so that only the current one is available. If you post a ls -l of /opt/zimbra we can help identify what can be deleted. Obviously take a backup though

This won't help. /opt is a separate partition, and I need to recover space in / (root), where /mnt is located.

I obviously underestimate the space I'd need on /.

While I work on a permanent solution I need a way to clear out space, and getting rid of foreign language support there would help.

Is there no way to do this safely?

What is under /mnt anyway as ZCS is always installed under /opt ? Also, /mnt looks like some external storage that has been mounted so removing files from there will not reduce the amount of space used in /. Please post a df of your ZCS server.

Here is the result of df -h

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda2 4.8G 4.8G 0 100% /
    /dev/sda6 88G 25G 63G 29% /opt
    /dev/sda5 1.9G 125M 1.7G 7% /var
    /dev/sda1 99M 17M 77M 18% /boot
    tmpfs 2.5G 0 2.5G 0% /dev/shm

This is the result of mount
    /dev/sda2 on / type ext3 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
    /dev/sda6 on /opt type ext3 (rw)
    /dev/sda5 on /var type ext3 (rw)
    /dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)
sunrpc on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)
none on /proc/fs/vmblock/mountPoint type vmblock (rw)

As you can see, in this case, /mnt/hgfs is not an external mount point. If there was a safe way to move that to /opt, that would solve all problems as /opt has more than sufficient space.

What are the files under /mnt then ? Do you have a cron job that performs a backup for Zimbra FOSS edition ? If so you should just be able to update that and point it at something like /opt/zimbra_backup.

D'oh. I have an external USB drive meant for backing stuff up, and the client had disconnected it. Which is why the backup script was storing this stuff in the /mnt directory!

    I feel so ...

    Thanks
