Default Upgrade Ubuntu 6.06 to 8.04

At the moment, my Zimbra OSS 5.10 is running on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.

For some reasons I'm forced to upgrade Ubuntu to 8.04.

What is the best way to perform the upgrade? Is it afterwards/before necessary to update/reinstall/migrate Zimbra with the 8.04 version?

    Thx four your answers.

What is forcing you to upgrade to 8.04?

Some libraries for web deployment(eg. php 5.2). And compiling is not an option ;-)

Ah, I see. Nothing to do with the Zimbra side then

As the Zimbra setup for Ubuntu 8.04 will complain if you run it on Ubuntu 6.06, I would imagine you will need to upgrade to 8.04 first.

I hate to reply with just "read the fourms" but there is a couple of threads, which recommend the sensible thing of backing up and/or using a second machine:
