    Default MTA won't start

    Hi,

I had a hard drive fail in an raid 1 config, and 2nd hard drive wouldn't boot. Took me along time to get the drive to boot and make the raid array work again.

I backed up the whole partition before starting to fix the array. Once all was said and done some where along the line something when wrong with zimbra. It worked at one point no errors but when I was almost done I checked it and I couldn't login to webmin or email. Connection refused on localhost. zmcontrol status said all service where running? After trying for a couple hrs to get it going I gave up and did the following:

I copied the whole directory /opt/zimbra from my backup of the raid before I started rebuilding. Everything is working now except MTA wont start. I have checked the zimbra logs and found the following with regards to postfix

mailserver postfix/postqueue[7595]: fatal: Connect to the Postfix showq service: Permission denied

I have to have this server back by 8:30am and its 4:37 am right now.

    Please if anyone can help.

    Scandog

Did you run any of the Zimbra commands as root? If you did stop zimbra and try running zmfixperms.sh.
    Regards

I went into service and stoped zimbra and then su zimbra

I ran the command zmfixperms.sh and it went through alot of files but I think almost all said either Permission denied or Operation not permitted.

Do I run it as root?

Maybe I havent shut it down all the way?

    THanks

Sorry, I should have said run the zmfixperms as root. Do an 'su - zimbra' then 'zmcontrol stop' and check if any other zimbra services are running and get rid of them the try the zmfixperms again.
