    Default Moving the Database

Is it possible to move the mysql database, Store and index?

I would like to move them to a second harddrive

currently they are located at the default /opt/zimbra

I would like to move them to /var/zimbra

From what I have figured out from the configuration files, to move the mysql database, you would just need to copy it to the new location, and change the datadir variable in
    /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf

I have not found the places to change for moving the Store and Index...

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Ben

    Hi bens750,
It is possible to move the store, and DB. I would advise against it because all of your scripts and upgrades point to /opt/zimbra.

If you would like to define an install path, then you should fine a feature request in bugzilla.zimbra.com

Once again, I would advise against it right now, but here are your paths:

    Mysql DB:
    /opt/zimbra/db

    LDAP:
    /opt/zimbra/openldap-data

    Message Store:
    /opt/zimbra/store

I'm sure there's more, and some of the zimbra guys and other community members can provide more insight than I.

    Default What about this?

Once you do the copy from /opt/zimbra/ to /var/zimbra/, could you delete /opt/zimbra/ and then create it as a symbolic link to /var/zimbra/? Like this:
    Code:
    rm -rf /opt/zimbra/
    ln -s /var/zimbra/ /opt/zimbra/
That way, the files are being stored on your /var partition (the second hard drive), but they can be accessed using the normal /opt/zimbra/ path.
