    Default Zimbra Auto-Install or Un-Attended

    Looking for a way to 100% un-attended install of zimbra.
    We install the Linux OS using KickStart and all the required pre-reqs are properly installed for zimbra.
    We are hard-coding all the info we need in KS file..so we dont mind hardcoding all Zimbra settings also for "a given install".
    so how can we pass all the required params to zimbra install script
    i.e:
    1) say YES automatically to all questions
    2) auto selected list of packages
    3) pass Admin password
    4) skip or send notification to zimbra

    other than above 4 we dont need to type anything while install.

    any inputs ?

    * i know i can sit and edit the install.sh file and bypass these..but then i have to do that for every version

    Take a look at the usage for install.sh. You can pass in a defaults file with all the variables that install.sh uses.

    Code:
    -c|--cluster type Cluster install type active|standby.
    -h|--help             Usage
    -l|--license    License file to install.
    -r|--restore Restore contents of to localconfig
    -s|--softwareonly     Software only installation.
    -u|--uninstall        Uninstall ZCS
    -x|--skipspacecheck   Skip filesystem capacity checks.
    [defaultsfile] File containing default install values.
    Sample defaults file would look like this. Substitute @@ items for your environment.
    Code:
    AVUSER=admin@@@DOMAIN@@
    CREATEADMIN=admin@@@DOMAIN@@
    CREATEDOMAIN=@@DOMAIN@@
    DOCREATEADMIN=yes
    DOCREATEDOMAIN=yes

    ok cool..i was not thinking in "defaultsfile" due to this post
    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...aultsfile.html
    also..i saw other info where defaultsfile was for mysql prams and stuff.

    * Is there a complete LIST of all the variables we can put in "defaultsfile"

    I will try this and post my findings in few days. i am going to do mass install of zimbra on more than 50 machines..so trying to PXE + Kickstart OS install + AutoZimbra Install in 1 step all un-attended

    If you do an install and save the config file that is the closest you will get to a complete list. The list is subject to change with every release, we aren't planning on documenting the current format beyond this as there is a future change that is planned that will alter the format and make automated/multi-node installs a lot easier.

    I also updated the other forumn post on how to use an existing config.XXXX saved file.
