The steps I took to resolve this issue are outlined here:Originally Posted by ecactive
Yes, I am aware of those instructions. However, we have modified our mysql users and know that the user/pass is correct.
We have hardcoded zmlogprocess to those user/pass combinations and still receive the user access error.
You should undo the hardcoding of the username & password, that's not where the problem is. Check your /opt/zimbra/conf/localconfig.xml and make sure:
are correct. Also make sure that no stray mysql processes are running before or after the changes.
Those key names are correct as well as their values.
Also tried the upgrade to 3.1.3 and the problem still persists. Services run after install ok and server performs as normal, but now the zmcontrol start doesnt seem to start services post install. Possibly a password sync issue but having followed all the various reset password wikis posts etc, it is not possible to connect to the mysql service from the command line so I cant apply any further changes. Shame as the system had been reliable till now, and after running all the betas and various versions from Oct last year not really had an issue.
Think we are going to have to rebuild the server and import all the data/messages we can back in. Back up from the first failed install is so out of date it is no use!
Unless anyone has any more ideas?
Anyone found a sensible means of extracting and restoring email, contacts and calendar from a working service other than the backup process?
