Default Anyone Update a Long-Standing ZCS NE System to 6.0.1?

Our own internal Zimbra NE system was first installed at version 4.0.x and has been upgraded periodically, to 5.0.18 currently--including an OS migration from 32-SLES9 to 64-bit SLES10.

In the event of a problem upgrade we would have no problem restoring from backup, but it would be comforting to know if anyone has successfully upgraded their long-standing ZCS system to 6.0.1 when the original install was done on the 4.0.x series.

    Thanks!

    Smile Yes

We've gone from ZCS 4 right up to ZCS 6.0.1 with all the upgrades in between. With regular upgrades over the last 4 (?) years.

Including changing architectures RHEL -> CentOS -> Ubuntu and 32bit to 64bit.

    Still have a working install

    Good to hear, thanks!

If you put your old Renault 12(?) avatar back up, I'll put my old Datsun Rally Car avatar up. Deal? :-)

    Done as well!

Datsun HL510, originally built by Rod Millen, later campaigned by Jon Woodner. 2.0L L-20B turbocharged engine ~300bhp (Escort motor mounts!). Full works Safari-spec suspension up front with a custom five-link rear suspension in the rear. Wet weight about 1,000 kilos. We'd finish in the top-10 overall on National rallies and typically be the top 2WD car, running against Buffum, Millen, Woodner and others with 4WD and 150+ more horses.

Little different upgrade challenges with that thing than with Zimbra for sure. :-)

FWIW I owned a Renault 5 for a goodly number of years, and a college friend successfully autocrossed a killer R12. He'd put some good fuel in the thing, pump up the tires, and advance the distributor timing about 20 degrees and blow the doors off Ford Capris and turbo bugs with full race suspensions.

    Quelle voiture!

    All the best,

Man, that's quite a legendary story. So I'll have a crack at it:

    1. Renault 12tl bought for $AUD 500 when I was University student
    2. Used it for about 4 years, many trips from Canberra to Sydney to see GF
    3. Was a Pizza Hut delivery driver for 3 years and so ripped out passenger seat so I could fit more Pizzas. Huge capacity, so increased my hourly rate
    4. Replaced the front brakes annually, two clutch plates. Drove around a few times with the parking break on, so that wore out too
    5. Feel asleep one night after late Pizza deliveries and jumped the gutter (~80km), blew both front tyres and knocked it around a bit.
    6. Drove it home 20kms on rims (& lots of smoke) and left in backyard for 2 years. Neglected.
    7. Sold it to the wreckers for $500 in same state. After newly married and wife gave it the marching order.
    8. Saw it driven around by Uni. students a few weeks later.

Familiar story; we both sold our cars for about what we paid for them, had to put a lot of money into them while we owned them, and had a lot of fun beating the stuffing out of them on a regular basis! ;-)

For your next R12, you can put bigger front brakes on from (I think) an R16; they won't wear out like the oem R12 brakes...

Our installation originally started as ZCS 3.x and has went through a platform change (RHEL4->RHEL5) and architecture change (32-bit -> 64-bit) along the way as well. Upgraded to 6.0.1 without any serious issues, just a few annoyances which were quickly resolved.
