Default Time required for 6.03 upgrade?

I'm interested in hearing from users who have upgraded from 5.x to 6.x and how long the process took. I am building a copy of our server in a VM to test the process, but without a second server of similar capacity, it's difficult to get an idea of how long the actual upgrade will take. Our install is currently on 5.018NE on Ubuntu 8.04 64 bit, running on a Dell PE2950 dual Quad Xeon with 16Gb RAM and 6 local SAS drives running a RAID10 array. We have 650 users with ~70Gb total mail volume.

I am testing on a Ubuntu 64bit VM, but with only a single CPU and 2Gb RAM. So far, I have been unable to restore the mail from the live server... still working on that part.

If anyone has reports of upgrade times for comparable setups, please let me know. Thanks

    I've about 500 users with 90GB mail vol..upgraded from 5.09 to 6.0.0 previously took about 45 minutes..then recently from 6.0.0 to 6.03 took about 30 minutes

Thanks for the reply. Did you encounter any issues after the upgrade? Did you have a backup MX for receiving mail during the outage?

My biggest fear is being down for 30-45 minutes for an upgrade, and then having it not succeed, and being faced with further downtime. I am trying to setup a test environment with our data to trial the process, but am not having any success restoring the backup - I can restore the accounts, but not the backup. I'll post the details shortly.

I've 2 MX for incoming mails for all my servers..BTW, as for the backup, I use rsync to do backup to a different folder/loaction..if anything I could re-sync the whole folder back to its original location..so far I do not experience any failed upgrade.
