Default Documents over Https, images not displaying ... display fine over http internally

I have users complaining that internally to our company they can see the images they insert in to shared documents but externally people can not. Our WAN access is HTTPS and not HTTP. I have seen this limitation myself and do not understand why when these documents are accessed via https the images do not show up.

Does anyone know a work around to make the images show up when accessing the site via HTTPS? Our e-mail server is independent of the web server and the webserver is currently serving apps on http port 80.

    Default

Can you check where the link to the document points (HTTP or HTTPS)?

I remember this was a problem for me a while ago as the HTTPS service was available everywhere, but HTTP was only accessible behind the firewall and the document links were be encoded with HTTP as the protocol for all instances.

    I think the fix is:

    Code:
    zmprov mcf zimbraPublicServiceHostname mail.domain.com
    zmprov md domain.com zimbraPublicServiceProtocol https
    zmprov md domain.com zimbraPublicServicePort 443
Which should use HTTPS as the default protocol for all the links.

    Hope that helps

    Default Solved

I just wanted to say thank you very much for your advice. I applied it this morning and it worked like a charm.

There is one thing I will mention to pay this forward ...

Once you apply the above steps you have to remove the images and re-add them. Once you re-add the images the above fix works.

    Default New issue ....

ok so the fix works sort of ... i called it to early

now when a user other then the user who created the document goes to view the document the image is not displayed.

If the original user goes to view the document they can view the document and see all the images.

Public users can not view the images either ....

Images are still not displayed for any other user other then the creator of the document.

    anyy ideas ???

    Smile Fixed

managed to resolve issue .... step 1). cleared / flushed cache

step 2). went into the shared document account and re-applied permisions so public can view pages.

now users can edit and view and public can edit and view documents and most specifically see the images in them.
