Default upgrading to 4.0 Open Source Edition

I just downloaded the Zimbra 4.0 Open Source Edition and looked through the docs that came with it for upgrade instructions. The only thing I found was a note in the Zimbra_Release_Note.pdf that said that upgrade instructions could be found by going to http://www.zimbra.com/community/ and clicking on Documentation. I did that and I'm not seeing anything. Is that something that is going to be up soon?

btw, the link in the pdf is broken. The url includes the word after the link so it actually took me to http://www.zimbra.com/community/and

    Thanks,

    dcm

Ahh. Broken links to docs are bad.

    Quick upgrade instructions:

    download .tgz file
    uncompress
    cd zcs
    ./install.sh
    answer questions, if any
    wait.....
    done.

OK, so it just installs over the current install? All of my domains, accounts, catchalls, aliases, etc. will stay intact?

    Thanks,

Indeed they will...the upgrade process is that simple. I just finished doing around of upgrades (5 or 6 machines), not a single issue.

Plus, of course, the backups you usually do when upgrading software.

I have a mondoarchive backup of the whole system going right now and I'll do a separate backup of just the zimbra stuff just before I do the upgrade. It would be really bad to have to start from scratch on this.

    thanks again for the help,

    dcm
