Default Got a complete noob question....

Okay, so I'm new to Zimbra, but I'm making the assumption that if I install the Open Source Edition and use Zimbra Desktop, that I'll have all of the email, calendar functions, etc. BUT, if I use Outlook, then all I get is email with the Open Source Edition. Thanks for any help!

Yes. Well, you would only get access from Outlook to your email via IMAP.

And I don't know (I really don't) if you could use Outlook to have CalDAV access to the ZCS server. And if you can't but still want to you can use other CalDAV clients if you want a non-web-based access to you calendar service from ZCS.

What about upgrading Open Source to professional version later on? Can that be done? I'm trying to get an email server set up for cheap (i.e. free) and then when $$ allows, upgrade to the professional version.

Of course it can be done. It would be just about the same as doing a version upgrade.
