Sorry to bring up an old thread but our NE license has expired and we are not renewing it as we are transferring to exchange (required for our ERP software).

It expired last night and I have tried to open my old Zimbra outlook profile and it still works but tells me the license has expired and is running in grace period but does not tell me how long this grace period is. Does any one know the answer to this? the only reason I ask is I am still transferring some peoples accounts to exchange and it is very useful to use the Outlook connector to export the mailbox to PST and import into exchange. Unless someone else knows another way to export Zimbra mailboxes to PST format??

After we have finished the transfer we will downgrade to the Open source version.

Paul I have no idea how long the grace is, but I am curious what ERP you're using.. is it Axapta? and if so version 4 sp1?

Yes we are running Microsoft Dynamics Axapta 4 SP1, why do you ask??

We spent a lot of time trying to get Axapta to talk to the Zimbra connector and we involved Zimbra support on this as well with no success.

Paul I ask cause I use Axapta 3 sp4 here and have been holding off upgrading, mainly because our system is heavily modified and I use it with Zimbra perfectly atm for emailing out sales orders etc etc..

One of the things I loath about the way Axapta is going is how Microsoft are making it dependant on their other products.

Yes that is a one of our concerns as well. The other reason we went with Exchange is that even if we did manage to get Zimbra to talk to it in later versions it may not work again.

When you say you have working with Zimbra do you mean that the Zimbra outlook connector is working with it? and if so does the Calendar, contacts, tasks etc interface with Axapta? Sorry to get off topic!

So do any of the Zimbra guy's know anything about this grace period??

Thanks phoenix, exactly what I wanted to hear. Should give me enough time to finish the transfer of mailboxes.

Does forking(copying mails to an external mailserver) of the Archive&Discovery feature of the NetworkEdition stop to work for the case the Network Edition would not be renewed or renewed too late ?

Thank's a lot for your help!

    Martin

    PS
It's clear to me that "discovering"/restoring mails with Archive&Discovery does only work properly with an actual NetworkEdition licence.

As it's a NE feature the Archiving & Discover feature will also stop working after the thirty day 'grace' period if the licence is not renewed.

Default does Zimbra Archive&Discovery(ZAD) really stop to work?

    Hmm,

the point of view of our future NE customer (where we are going to place a large number of licenses) about that matter is:

"It's simply impossible that this key-feature(ZAD) of the NE-version does stop
to work only because the licence is not yet renewed!
What we could tolerate is, that the restore GUI is not anymore "available"
but stopping the forking process would not be compliant.
What we do fully understand is that no support and no updates are available
    any more"

    Our questions:
    1.
Does the forking process really stop after licence expiration?
    2.
Does the "restore GUI" stop to work after licence expiration?

    Thank's a lot for a statement.

    Martin
