Default Probably a silly proxy question

I am new to Zimbra and I have read the manuals, but I must have missed something.

I need to set up a multi server environment, so I am going to set up a proxy server. For test purposes, I set up my first server with all possible options - including the proxy server. I cannot get pop3 or imap to work if I use the standard ports 110 and 143 (No I am not working with imap3 or pop3s - yet)

If I telnet to port 110 I get the following:

    [root@zimbra1 ~]# telnet localhost 110
    Connected to localhost.localdomain (
    Escape character is '^]'.
    +OK POP3 ready
    -ERR invalid command
    Connection closed by foreign host

    Now I try port 7110

    [root@zimbra1 ~]# telnet localhost 7110
    Connected to localhost.localdomain (
    Escape character is '^]'.
    +OK Zimbra POP3 server ready
+OK hello, please enter your password
    pass testpassword
    +OK server ready
    +OK 12 messages
    1 1649
    2 5427
    3 1650
    4 5444
    5 1639
    6 5307
    7 1650
    8 6130
    9 1650
    10 6206
    11 1650
    12 1461

It seems to me that I have something wrong in the proxy configuration, but I have no idea where to turn from here.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also new to zcs, and looking at the proxy setup as well. Have you tried enabling the ports you need with the "zmproxyconfig" command? It is under /opt/zimbra/libexec

Default Same issue with Zimbra NE 7.1

    Hi Guys,

Anyone found a solution for this problem ?
I have a 2 server setup (server 1 mailbox/ldap, server 2 mta/proxy) and have the same issue with the pop/imap proxy

There is nothing in the logs on server 1 for any login attempt made through the proxy.
However i also install the http proxy which works fine through server 2

Any client or command line attempt to connect through the proxy to the mailbox server fails with: Invalid Command

Any ideas will be much appreciated.
