I'd be surprised if it was anything to do with MySQL. Were they calling/using sendmail? Can you not define a new mail server that they should use? When you say they no longer work, what exactly do you mean?

Neither of them can connect to MySQL anymore...both packages give error pages indicating this.

Simple test, shut down zimbra by doing this:

    su - zimbra
    zmcontrol stop

If you're still unable to connect to MySQL then it's not zimbra. I don't know enough about your applications to say why they can't connect to MySQL.

    hi Bill,

Did that and still can't connect. Everything was fine until I installed Zimbra. Does the Zimbra install edit any files that MySQL would be looking to read from?

No, Zimbra doesn't touch any of the MySQL files. I also have an instance of MySQL running on my server with APache on port 8080 and I don't have any problems.

Which application is causing the problem and what's the exact message? Are you certain that the original MySQL is actually running?
    Regards

I figured out the problem. Seems that the install wiped out /tmp/mysql.sock which was a symlink back to the actual location. Thanks for your help!

Yep...sure is. Thanks for helping me get into "thinking mode". Now if I can get antivirus to work everything will be golden!

Shouldn't be much to do with A/V, it's pretty automatic with Zimbra. You may need to tweak the kill/tag percentages but in general that's about all.

Thanks...it's showing a red X now, so I assume that it's not running. Would there be any conflict with the previous install possibly? Can you give me a few pointers on how to "tweak"?
