Default Open source edition vs paid editions

Other than the extra features provided by the paid versions like auto backups and indexing etc... is there any limitations on the open source edition ?

Nope. The feature list is really it. So you will miss backups, live mailbox moves, attachment content indexing, Outlook connector, ActiveSync support, etc.

You can do everything else with the open source edition.
