I've attempted to find a thread on this, but can't...
I have an ISP that is blocking incoming port 25. This means that I can't receive any emails to the MTA. If you attempt to telnet to the mail server on port 25, you do not get a response.
A commercial outfit (DynDNS) offers this service (for a fee):
These features are available for all domains using MailHop Relay.
* Relaying of incoming mail to standard and alternate port SMTP servers
MailHop Relay will relay mail to a server of your choice on port 24, 25, 587, 2525, 10025, or 52525.
So using this service would solve my problem, but...
Just how and where do you change the port that the MTA (or is it postfix) is listening on from 25 to one of the above???
The install of Zimbra is on SUSE10 and is functioning correctly. You can email to other users within Zimbra. I haven't set up outgoing mail forwarding, but I can to this already. The install was easy, once I figured out that the hosts file has to be what the quick install says for loopback, and not the SUSE default. (localhost.localdomain localhost --- not localhost )This forum also told me how to disable postfix installed by SUSE, so it wouldn't conflict with postfix from Zimbra. Many thanks.
