    Hello,

    are there any news regarding IPv6 support in Zimbra 8 and how do I configure v6 on Zimbra 8?

    Thanks

    I looked into this as well and found that only a limited amount of services support it and is in beta still.

    Taken from the admin manual: "IP Mode IPv4 is the default. (IPv6 is ZCS 8.0 Beta only)."

    Good question! How to configure ipv6 in zcs8? No results with googel! Only a short entry in Wiki for zcs7 (Configuring for IP V6 - Zimbra :: Wiki)

    That is what I've found in the zcs8 release notes:

    68505 In ZCS 8.0, IPv6 is a beta release. IPv6 option can be configured
    during ZCS installation.
    The default is to use IPv4, unless IPv6 is configured.
    The expected way to change IP mode is by changing
    zimbraIPMode first, and then running libexec/zmiptool tool, e.g.:
    $ zmprov ms `zmhostname` zimbraIPMode ipv4 ; libexec/
    zmiptool ; zmcontrol restart
    $ ps aux | grep java | grep preferIPv4Stack | wc -l
    3
    $ zmprov ms `zmhostname` zimbraIPMode both ; libexec/
    zmiptool ; zmcontrol restart
    $ ps aux | grep java | grep preferIPv4Stack | wc -l
    0
    OK it is possible to set zimbraIPMode to both

    But how?

    Are the Changes of maxi_112 enough? Anything else?

    Would somebody at Zimbra write something in the wiki please?

    Here what I did.

    1. Set the AAAA Records in DNS
    2. Run as zimbra user: zmprov ms `zmhostname` zimbraIPMode both ; libexec/
    zmiptool ; zmcontrol restart

    It seems to work fine..

    That is what I did. So simple?
    But why is there no description in the books?

    I guess it's assumed you know how to create IPv6 DNS records, DNS A & MX records are required (and that is stated in the documentation) for the Zimbra server in IPv6 & IPv4.

    I think we (users of ipv6) know how to set up DNS for IPv6 with AAAA records and MX. But personally I expect the setup for Zimbra and IPv6 in the Administrator Guide even if it is a beta feature. The 3 lines of maxi_112 are enough. Where is the problem?
