Setting up fresh install. Doing a multi server installation. Details below:
LDAP Master - 2 CPU, 3GB RAM, 15GB RAM, 1 NIC installed with RHEL 6.1 64 bit. Hostname zmldap-master.domain.com (172.16.8.10)
Mailbox server 1 - 2 CPU, 4GB RAM, 15GB RAM, 1 NIC installed with RHEL 6.1 64 bit. Hostname zm-mbox1.domain.com (172.16.8.15)
Mailbox server 2 - 2 CPU, 4GB RAM, 15GB RAM, 1 NIC installed with RHEL 6.1 64 bit. Hostname zm-mbox2.domain.com (172.16.8.16)
MTA Server 1 - 2 CPU, 3GB RAM, 15GB RAM, 1 NIC installed with RHEL 6.1 64 bit. Hostname zm-mta1.domain.com (172.16.8.20)
MTA Server 2 - 2 CPU, 3GB RAM, 15GB RAM, 1 NIC installed with RHEL 6.1 64 bit. Hostname zm-mta2.domain.com (172.16.8.21)
Planning to setup Ldap replication, Mail and Web proxy as well if the above config works fine without any issues. Disabled Antivirus & Antispam, as I don't need them.
Setup ntp on all servers for time sync. Working fine.
Setup DNS records as follows:
MX records point to mta1 & mta2
Using DNS round robin to load balance between the multiple Mailbox and MTA Servers.
zm-mta.domain.com A 172.16.8.20
zm-mbox.domain.com A 172.16.8.15
During installation of Mailbox servers, used zm-mbox.domain.com as the SMTP Host.
During installation of MTA Servers, used zm-mta.domain.com as the MTA Auth Hostname.
Is the above correct? If not what should I use?
Installation of Ldap & mailbox servers went without any errors. During MTA server installation it gave error that it failed to setup MTA Auth. However all the services on all the hosts are running fine (checked with zmcontrol status). Completed the additional 2 steps required for setting up SSH keys & logs.
When I login to the admin console, it shows all the services as down except for the zm-mbox1 server! Can someone help debug this?
Anyways I went ahead and created a couple of user accounts. THe accounts who mailbox server is mbox1 is able to login. However those accounts whose mailbox server is mbox2, they are not able to login. Gives error messages that Auth is required. (via Web).
Can someone guide with this setup and troubleshooting.
