I was finally able to get mta started. I did this by disabling sendmail.
I disabled sendmail and after doing that I ran zmconrol start and zmcontrol status.
Below is the output for "zmcontrol status":
As you can see mta is now running. So that issue is now resolved. Yet, when I open up a browser and type the IP Address of the mail-mirror machine, it does not connect to the mail-mirror server. Is there something more I need to do with Zimbra to allow this to happen or is this probably a Firewall issue? I will recheck my Firewall rules but I am pretty sure I had them all setup correctly.
I am just typing in the IP Address into the browser so DNS would not matter. I checked in the /opt/zimbra/conf/httpd.conf and saw the following line: Listen 7780. If I type in the IP Address and end if with :7780 I get the following message: "It Works!". So, it appears that Apache is working. Any thoughts? Thanks.
I just ran the following 2 commands on the mail-mirror machine:
netstat -an | grep :80
The result of this command was: tcp 0 0 :::80 :::* LIST
netstat -an | grep :443
This command gave no results
It looks like either I need to make some adjustments with ZCS to fix apache so it is listening on port 443 or I may need to uninstall ZCS and re-install it
I am trying to reach the mail-mirror server's login page by putting the IP Address into a web-browser on my computer that is on our network. Unfortunately this is not working. The reason I said DNS does not matter is because their is a DNS A record for our production mail server. The messages are then just rsync'd over from the production mail server to the mail-mirror machine. Their is no DNS A record for mail-mirror machine because nobody actually sends email to it.
I noticed that if I type in just the IP Address of our mail-mirror server into a browser that the login console will appear. However, if I put "https://" before the IP Address of the mail-mirror server it will give me a page that says "Unable to connect". I can see that port 80 is listening on the mail-mirror server but port 443 is not listening. I think this has to do with the apache that ZCS installs
1) I am not sure if there is a setting where I can get apache to listen on port 443?
2) If there is no setting than does that mean that this install is corrupted (I am hoping this is not the case)?
3) If this install is corrupted, can I obtain an uninstall script from somewhere so I don't have to blow away the OS as well?
Thanks to anyone who can give me assistance.
