    Default RHEL5 Network Edition Support?

We are looking at deploying Zimbra in the near future, but since the release of RHEL5 is imminent, are planning to simply deploy directly onto that platform. That of course assumes that there will be a NE version of that fairly quickly after release. Are there any ETA's for when a NE version will be available?

    Thanks!

    No ETA Yet.
There is an enhancement for it, i'd suggest adding yourself to the cc list so that you can track it.

Thanks for letting me know about the enhancement. I've added myself to the list. Do you have any rough ideas as to how long after the release of RHEL5 I might be looking at? Obviously this isn't something I would hold anyone to, but for example, how long after the release of RHEL4 was there a NE version released?

A long time (RHEL4 is how old, 3-4 years), Zimbra has only been available for about 18-20 months.

Anyway, to answer your question - that bug report has it schedule for the next major release of Zimbra which should be about mid-year. That would also depend on when in the life cycle of 5.0 that support for RHEL5 is released. As those dates depend on many things and aren't fixed.

Thanks Bill. Yes, in thinking about it my RHEL4 question was obviously not well thought out. I guess we will probably end up just having to deploy on RHEL4 originally, as we are looking at doing our deploy in May at this point.
