    Question Upgrading Zimbra

I've got zimbra running on a ubuntu box (Dapper). I'd like to upgrade my current version of zimbra (version 4.0) to the most recent version 4.5.5.

I'm wasn't too fond on doing a fresh install, is there a way I can download a new package, recompile it and have it use my current accounts that are already installed? Any suggestions? Thx!

    Nadia.

Your sticking on the same box and operating system right? (you make no mention of os/box change)

Then all you have to do is BACKUP your /opt/zimbra (tar, zip, copy -idea is to keep all permissions intact-though there is a script to reset permissions if you don't)
Also backup other folders if their not located in that directory; you would know if you've moved them-by default everything runs out of /opt/zimbra.
Then download the 4.5.5 package and as root run ./install-sh

Everything is the same. I'm not changing the OS or moving to a new box, the only thing I want to do is upgrade to the latest version of Zimbra. I'll make take an image of my hdd and try your suggestions and see if I have any success. Thx!!

whatever backup method suits you-as long as you do make a backup
btw it's ./install.sh (not dash) but you would have figured that out
