Default append default domain in web cli

    Hello,

I have noticed, in the web cli, if one does not give the GAL time to verify the address of the recipient that an error message is given if an address is specified without a domain.

"The following address appear to be invalid"

Is it possible to control this behavior so that an unqualified address is assumed to be in the default domain?

    That's exactly what's happening.

The GAL only auto completes qualified domains. You can't just enter John. John will auto complete from the address book or the GAL with the read address.

I think what jholder looks for is functionality within zimbra to treat an email being sent to 'john' or 'mary' assumed to be local delivery.

I can do that at work (MTA = sendmail), but isnt supported by all fat clients (thunderbird is happy with that, outlook not).

If I do not give the GAL time to auto-complete, by typing the address quickly, and the address is entered without the fully qualified domain, an error message is generated as I mentioned in my original post. It is that behavior that I would like to know about. Is it possible to get the web cli not to issue the error and just treat the address as local?

In my thinking, I think of cli and client and CLI as Command Line Interface.

    but that's my thinking
