    Default Automatic start on reboot

Probably and FAQ but I can't find it...

My installation is on a Mac with OS X 10.4.10. Is there some way to set up the system so that zimbra services start on reboot and shut down in an orderly fashion on shutdown?

    Thanks

    JEH

We already have a launch script installed with Zimbra. Search the forums for the words 'mac startup' and review those threads.

    Question Autostart on Macs

OK, I did the search, and found a 2005 posting about a script written by some fellow who says this is his first script, and seems pretty proud of it, at http://www.zimbra.com/forums/install...pt-extras.html

Is this the one you are referring to? I don't see anything like this in my installation; do I download this .dmg and hope for the best, or has Zimbra QA'ed it and distributed it in some other form?

There were a couple of other oblique references in the threads found by this search that suggested that there was a built in autostart of some sort, but I can't find anything in the docs or the wiki that tells how to set it up. Can you give me a bit more information on where to look and what I am looking for?

I'm wondering whether this could just be done in typical Unix fashion with an rc script in /etc....

    Thanks

Just as an update, the Open Source Edition did include a bug where Zimbra did not start on Reboot. This didn't affect the NE.

This has been fixed for 4.5.6

Thanks. I just installed 4.5.6 (open source) yesterday. Is auto-restart now enabled by default, or do I have to do something to enable it?

Unhappy Zimbra + opensuse10.2, cannot start automatically

    I'm on 4.5.6 with Opensuse10.2
I notice someone said that the startup script has a problem with startup sequence? The proposed solution is to add these into the startup script:
    Code:
    ### BEGIN INIT INFO
    # Provides: zimbra
    # Required-Start: $network $syslog
    # Required-Stop:
    # Default-Start: 3 5
    # Default-Stop: 0 1 2 6
    # Description: Zimbra mail service
    ### END INIT INFO
But, zimbra still doesn't start automatically after reboot.
    Please help.
I've been searching the forum for it.

    Talking Solved!

After some testing, I turn off Network Manager, reboot, and voila! Zimbra can run automatically after reboot
No wonder in SLES, network manager is turned off.
