    Default migration without passwords

    Hi,

We have a mysql db that has usernames and passwords stored. I was wondering if there are any other methods to migrate without passwords or extract the passwords from mysql. Thanks for the help!

If your existing mail server supports ldap authentication, you could set up a temp ldap server provisioned with your accounts and a unique password.

But in the end, you will probably end up extracting passwords from the database to set in for the newly created accounts in zimbra, no ?

    Hi,

The passwords are encrypted in the db. We're looking for any other methods of migrating all our users' mail to zimbra without needing their passwords.

    Is this a Zimbra Server?

If so, the passwords are stored in LDAP.

We want to migrate to zimbra. I can run the script to move all my mailboxes from squirrelmail to zimbra just fine...as long as i have the user's password. All the users encrypted passwords are stored in our mysql db. Is there a way to get those passwords, so that we can migrate every mailbox? We were told to avoid using ldap. Or, is there any way to just move all mailboxes without having to know/require each users passwords?

    Thanks for your help!
