Default [SOLVED] Import imap folder - no CRAM-MD5 error

    Hi
I am a new zimbra user. I need to figure out how to import imap folders from a server using imap and exim mail server into zimbra.
I've tried following the wiki article on using imapsync but it seems to be failing to log into my old server, with a no CRAM-MD5 error:

Host my.oldserver.com says it has NO CAPABILITY for AUTHENTICATE CRAM-MD5
    Error login : [my.oldserver.com] with user [me@mydomain.com] auth [CRAM-MD5]: 3 NO AUTHENTICATE CRAM-MD5 failed

    3 NO AUTHENTICATE CRAM-MD5 failed
    ...propagated at /usr/bin/imapsync line 677.

Whats the best way around this? I only need to migrate a few Imap accounts from a production mail server to a new zimbra server. Old server is running Centos and exim mail server.

    Thanks

    Steve jacobs

    Welcome to the forums,

Have you tried appending --noauthmd5 or authmec plain?

Thanks. --noauthmd5 worked. I guess Ineed to find and read documentation on imapsync.

    Welcome to the forums,

    Command list is here: http://www.linux-france.org/prj/imapsync/README

Are you in league with stevejacobs? (If so I could mark this thread as solved)
-Found it weird that it was two first posts so close in the same thread & on the same topic.

I'd feel more confident if your IP's came from the same domain or something, but the fact that you both had the same issue so close makes me think you're a team.

No reply in one week (11th>18th) so I'm going to mark this thread as [solved]

However you can certainly reply to it at any time, as I'd certainly like to know if you were working jointly. (I don't want to leave steve hanging in the unknown!)

    Take care,
