Migrate 3.2.0 to 4.5.9
Excuse my English ... I am Brazilian and I have some difficulty with English ... But I will try to be as soon as possible!
Use the zimbra since version 3.2.0 and now I need updating my version and server (hardware).
I installed the version 4.5.9 on the new server and now all users must migrate to
I know you already set up the new box, but instead of using imapsync and what not you could use this method:
What platform is the 3.2 box? For instance, you may have to use a 4.0.x version as a midpoint and operating system switch before going all the way to 4.5.10
Use OS SUSE with zimbra configured as mailbox!
Interestingly this method to upgrade! Only I think the time downtime of the server will be very big! In the forum of zimbra talks about imapsync ... will this method would not be faster?
Taking advantage ... Which method for translation into Portuguese of customers?

I already created all accounts exactly equal to the current server ... At the time of running imapsync this appearing this message:
fcntl() on unopened filehandle GEN0 at /usr/share/perl5/Mail/IMAPClient.pm line 70.
fcntl() on unopened filehandle GEN0 at /usr/share/perl5/Mail/IMAPClient.pm line 80.
Do I need the imapsync installed on two servers?:confused:
Thanks for translation satisfied!::)
ok, so choosing the imapsync route-
In fact you don't even have to be using imapsync from the zimbra servers themselves. (though using a workstation/other server would add to the transfer time)
All you've stated is FOSS SUSE. Is this openSUSE? actual version numbers? etc
Version on 3.2?
Version on 4.5?
Command you ran to install/obtain imapsync/location you got it from?
Imapsync command you're running?
If you don't know the passwords - though you could choose to reset them to something known, then walk the users through resetting the next day but depending on your environment & size that may not be feasible for obvious reasons. hi! Good afternoon
Sorry for the delay responses ... I had that for a few days for the migration. Below the answers to your questions.
The numbers are real server today:
I am moving to debian server and zimbra 4.5.10;
Have synchronize the mailboxes. Some examples follow that picked up in the wiki;
I have all the passwords of users. In the new server standard created them and then I will ask that each user change for the same used in the old server.
Taking advantage ... Must replace the door of listening. How? Today this in 80, but since then has installed noted that another service running on this door. I would like to change for 8081. The installation is to understand that, but after installed and tried and not found anything!
Thank you for your help! When you want to know the brazil is alert!
