    Default [SOLVED] Google Apps Backend

    Hello,

My company is looking into ZCS for our clients and we're running it in a test environment right now. Some of our small clients are using Google Apps and other webmail solutions and I was wondering if it was possible for them to keep their existing solutions and have Zimbra pull in emails via POP/IMAP into each user's mailbox? This may only be a transitory phase for some clients and others may not want to run an email server on-site but would like to take advantage of Zimbra's collaboration features (I know there are hosted service providers but I'm thinking of an on-site setup). I was also thinking that leaving the emails on the webhost provides an additional backup and archival -- Google Apps accounts are >7GB. Is this possible or is Zimbra only capable of receiving mail via SMTP?

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for responding. I may be overlooking something here but I can't seem to find any options under user preferences in Accounts that would allow me to specify anything like external email account/server settings. Could you please clarify?

There's a button titled "Add External Account".

Thanks for your help. I looked all over the user profile preferences under Accounts in the Administration console but had only glanced at the preferences under the user's actual account. Guess I should have done my research better, but I was pressed for time in this case. Thanks again for the prompt help!

That sounds like a nice solution for larger deployments. I'll have to look into the details of that for future implementations. Thanks for your input vavai.
