Default [SOLVED] Problem migrating 6.0.8 GA from Debian 4 32-bit to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit

    Hi,

I am running the open source edition for three years now, enjoying a stable and flexible mail and collaboration platform. I would like to stay up2date and decided to migrate to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bits from Debian 4 32-bits.
After reading several documents, I installed the new server and started migration, after three weeks of trying, I have come to the forum for help, Here is what I have done so far:
Mainly following this document: Network Edition: Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit Server - Zimbra :: Wiki

After migrating and copy, etc when starting the new server, the following happens:
    Code:
    $ zmcontrol start
    Host zimbra.xxx.com
            Starting ldap...Done.
            Starting logger...Done.
            Starting mailbox...Done.
            Starting memcached...Done.
            Starting imapproxy...Done.
            Starting antispam...Done.
            Starting antivirus...Failed.
    Starting zmmtaconfig...zmmtaconfig is already running.
    Starting amavisd...amavisd is already running.
    Starting freshclam...done.
    Starting clamd...failed.

            Starting snmp...Done.
            Starting spell...Done.
            Starting mta...Done.
            Starting stats...Done.
Looking in the logs, I see several messages:
    Code:
/opt/zimbra/clamav/bin/freshclam: error while loading shared libraries: libltdl.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

/opt/zimbra/clamav/sbin/clamd: error while loading shared libraries: libltdl.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Sun Oct 3 15:55:35 2010 Watchdog: skipping service antivirus. Service not yet available for restarts.
    And the status:
    Code:
    $ zmcontrol status
    Host zimbra.xxx.com
            antispam Running
            antivirus Stopped
                    zmclamdctl is not running
            imapproxy Running
            ldap Running
            logger Running
            mailbox Running
            memcached Running
            mta Running
            snmp Running
            spell Running
            stats Running
The admin web-interface and user web-interface are running fine.

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Kind regards
    Martijn

The Ubuntu10_64 currently available accidentally had a dependency on libltdl.so.7 since it was on the build machine at the time, run:
    sudo apt-get install llibltdl7
    zmcontrol restart

Thank you for your very quick and accurate reply .
I was confused because the library was available in the /opt/zimbra/libtool directory.

    Problem solved!

    Default question about this migration

    Hi guys.

I have to do the same migration (OSS version), but i thought about doing this way:

    1) install zimbra on 64bit machine
    2) configure it as the x32 machine
    3) export all users accounts and then import on new server

what do you think about it?

I would stick to the proven method described above (network edition link).\

    Good luck migrating!

    Default suggestions?

My question was for mmorse, mainly.

Mmorse, what do you think about "my way"?

    Thanks.

You should have asked this question in a new thread not one that marked a Solved (it's likely to get missed or ignored) or even searched the forums for the answer (it's been covered many times). If all you want to do is move the accounts then 'your way' will work otherwise follow the wiki instructions on how to migrate from 32bit to 64bit.
    Regards
