    Default BAD maximum literal size exceeded

    I'm migration from ZCS 6.0.6 to 8.0.1_GA_5438.FOSS with imapsync-1.350-1

    I use the following line;
    imapsync --nofoldersizes --skipsize --fast --buffersize 18192000 --nosyncacls --exclude 'Trash|Emailed Contacts|Contacts' --syncinternaldates --noauthmd5 --host1 $host1 --user1 $user --password1 $pass --host2 $host2 --port2 7143 --delete2 --user2 $user --password2 $pass

    Everything works just fine but some emails doesn't sync with the following errors;
    BAD maximum literal size exceeded

    Those emails all have attachments but they are variable in size, from 126Kb to 7Mb.

    Anyone knows what exactly what "literal size" means? Or have any clue how fix/prevent this?

    Thanks!

    Steeve

    I am still seeing this same issue with 8.0.2_GA_5569.NETWORK (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit); it's with all my messages that are larger than 10MB; I have already ratched up the max message/file size to 30MB and I am still seeing this error in imapsync for messages with file sizes as small as 11MB. am I missing another knob to twist here?

    Default Still getting this error

    Hello,

    We have just installed the open source edition 8.0.2 on Red Hat.

    We have set the following:

    message_size_limit = 50000000
    zimbraFileUploadMaxSize = 50000000

    When migrating emails, a all the larger emails (larger than 10MB) end up with this:

    msg INBOX/1974 copied to INBOX/4504
    msg INBOX/1975 copied to INBOX/4505
    msg INBOX/1976 copied to INBOX/4506
    - msg INBOX/1977 couldn't append (Subject:[=?iso-8859-1?Q?H=E4lsning?=]) to folder INBOX: Error sending '1223 APPEND INBOX (\Seen) "22-Oct-2012 01:57:55 +0200" {11266906}': 1223 BAD maximum literal size exceeded

    Is this a problem in 8.0.2, or are there any limits that needs to be set?

    Best

    I'm using 8.0.5_GA_5839 and also face these messages randomly when migrating mails from Gmail to Zimbra using imapsync . Any ideas on this?

    How about checking the last comment in the bug report, see if that addresses your issue.

    You are right; I've completely overlooked the Bugtracker link. After setting zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize to ~50MB (50000000) it didn't occour anymore. Sorry for bothering you with something already answered!

    That's OK and I'm glad that fixed it.
