    Default iPad zimbra not working properly

    I have constant problems when I try to use zimbra on the iPad. I have great difficulty getting a cursor in the text area. I can write in the subject area, but when I tap on the area for the body of the e-mail, the cursor doesn't go there. That is in the HTML mode. I find that the normal version usually hangs up on logging in. I have similar problems with composing e-mail if I do get into the normal version.

    Use the mobile version.

    Gersh is spot on; use the Mobile version for now. There is an active bugzilla RFE for beefing up the Advanced html client to work on an iPad, but it is targeted for release in Helix (Zimbra 7.0).

    It looks like Helix 7.0 is commited for Dec 9th, if I'm reading this page correctly. Will I be able to use my iPad normally then?

    Dates in pm.zimbra.com are not firm commitments on the part of Zimbra, and the dates do tend to move out as we get closer to them, sometimes by several weeks.

    Zimbra has migrated to doing releases less frequently and choosing to push off release dates to ensure all committed bugs are squashed. We'd much rather have solid code over solid release dates, so we like this evolution in strategy.

    If it were me, I wouldn't plan deploying Helix before Christmas, but also remember that I don't work for Zimbra; I'm just a moderator here and a Zimbra Hosting Partner!
