    It looks like Zimbra 8 introduced a bug that causes the "from" email address on a configured iPhone Exchange account to reset to a random alias: Bug 78903 – Multiple address for zimbraAllowFromAddress change emailaddress field for activesync

    If you use multiple personas, or use a canonical address - then you may not be able to choose the "From" email address you want to display on emails coming from your iPhone. I know this is broken on my iPhone - can't speak to Android, though I imagine the bug is on that phone too as it relates to the Zimbra software, not the phone software.

    The best way to get this fixed? Please vote for this bug! Tell your friends! Then hide your kids, hide your wife (from this terrible bug)!

    Okay - looks like there may be an even more specific bug about the issue above - and it has been fixed!

    Just need to verify with my Zimbra host that we are not yet running the version of Zimbra 8 with the fix.

    I take that back - looks like the issue (or some form of it) persists today. The aforementioned bug (78360) was fixed in Zimbra 8.0.2, and I'm running on 8.0.3. So - vote for the bug please!

    Looks like other people are now seeing this issue (there are new votes and comments on the bug. If others are seeing this issue, please vote for the bug to ensure it gets prioritized.

    One more plea to vote for this bug: Bug 78903 – Multiple address for zimbraAllowFromAddress change emailaddress field for activesync

    If you are running the latest Zimbra and using an iPhone, your "from" address may very well be wrong.
