thinking of going virtual

I took 3 disks and made RAID 5 array. I also took 2 disks and made a RAID 1 array. I'll make the CentOS/Zimbra VM on the latter (RAID 1) array.

thinking of going virtual

we have a new HP server with 5 SAS disks, We are installing VMware ESXi 4.1.

Zimbra (on a CentOS guest) will be our first 'virtual' project, but in the end we will probably have Apache, MS SQL and more installed on the same VMware host.

the attachment is there and accessible when I'm in "Standard" mode. It is gone (also missing is the mime stuff when showing the 'original') when I'm in "Advanced" mode.

what are the main benefits?
what are the main risks?
best practices?

Thank you all in advance.

[SOLVED] archiving Zimbra backups

Thank you Krishopper and xeon.To Krishopper: The space that the backups occupy in the source location seem much smaller than in the target (copied-to) location. Am I missing something? :pTo xeon: Have you successfully restored from the backups that have been placed on a cifs share? Since you backup ...

[SOLVED] archiving Zimbra backups
You should be able to save them to an NFS volume without an issue.
So, I can run "cp -R " to a mounted NFS volume? and then, if necessary, restore them without any issues like permissions, etc?
Thanks

We are hoping to store the backups on a removable Windows server's hard disk if possible. (Our Zimbra installation is on a Linux server)What are our options...
