ZimbraDesktop2 B1 - very slow sync.

The next beta is scheduled for 2-3 weeks and I don't know if we will have anything to try sooner than that. On a laptop with a battery and correct sleep/hibernate functionality, running with sqlite_sync_mode=off should be fine - it's more of an issue with a desktop that has opportunity for p...

ZimbraDesktop2 B1 - very slow sync.

That would definitely do it. I literally just bought a new SSD this morning as a Newegg special because my SSD had a jmicron controller causing multi-second Windows 7 delays. It clears up after you reformat the filesystem, but that gets old every couple of months. There are several apps on the net t...

ZimbraDesktop2 B1 - very slow sync.

SQLite db lookup operations look perfect - 1-20 ms each but write commits are slow - several hundred ms. Do you happen to have one of the old MLC SSD drives that cause severe stuttering on writes? If it is not one of the newest generations with updated controllers, then the sync writes in sqlite cou...

Hotmail connection issue.

I have posted about this numerous times. If you browse the Hotmail forums, they were ablaze with people rightfully upset that Microsoft intentionally abandoned all third party clients (and even Outlook Express and Entourage!) by disabling Webdav that works perfectly well for 98% of the population. T...

How to back up email

Import/export is correct and works in later versions of 5.0 as well as 6.0. ZD 2.0 beta UI is a bit problematic, but we are working on that for beta 2

service.FAILURE: system failure: getting database connection

ZD 2.0 should work with either 1.5 or 1.6, but there is something non-standard about your java install possibly caused by reverting the VM. The "Cannot run Java in 32 bit mode. Continuing in 64 bit mode" error is unique to your install. We run in 32 bit client VM mode to save memory. What i...

Desktop sync with Zimbra Server network edition

We are rewriting our underlying database layer and have made dramatic internal changes for the 2.0 alpha that should be out in the next few weeks. There have also been a couple direct changes to the code so that it can recover from mailboxes that are missing blobs which cause the first error in this...
