Re: Zimbra Collaboration 8.7.x and Ubuntu OS update corrupts/removes Zimbra installation

Anyone else have any suggestions on how to progress? You probably won't like my suggestion but it would be to repalce it with CentOS. If you notice around these forums most of the problems seem to be " ubuntu" based and a few of them are RHEL/CentOS. You can probably work out from my comm...

Re: Zimbra Collaboration 8.7.x and Ubuntu OS update corrupts/removes Zimbra installation

We had success moving from zimbra 8.6 to 8.8 and 14.04 to 16.04 simultaneously by using this migration method: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_NG_Modules/Zimbra_NG_Backup/Incremental_server_to_server_migration_with_Zimbra_NG_Backup There was some minor cleanup afterwords, but overall it worked ...

Re: Zimbra Collaboration 8.7.x and Ubuntu OS update corrupts/removes Zimbra installation

This is concerning. I have 3 x Zimbra 8.8.12 Patch 1 servers that I have just upgraded from 8.8.11 Patch 4. They are all running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS for the reasons you have outlined above. I would like to upgrade them soon due to the EOL of Ubuntu 14.04. Anyone else have any suggestions on how to prog...

Re: 8.8.12 Patch 2 not available on Ubuntu with apt-get upgrade

That's good to know that Patch 2 is NE only. That wasn't stated anywhere obvious on the blog post that I remember. I just went back and read that page again and it's definitely not stated anywhere.

I'm using the community edition.

Thanks Phoenix!

Re: DNS cache seems corrupt

I went back to looking at this. I'm still not sure what's going on. I changed the VMWare virtual network card type from VMX3 to E1000, but that didn't help anything. I ended up having to just disable DNSCache in Zimbra to get DNS queries working properly. The specific domainkey lookup is now working...

Re: memcached amplification attack

@jholder, I am really happy to see that Zimbra employers are looking at this forum. It's refreshing. However, it has been a year since people were having issues with the memcached amplification attack. I would love to see more participation by Zimbra staff here so don't be offended, but it just stru...

8.8.12 Patch 2 not available on Ubuntu with apt-get upgrade

I just upgraded from Zimbra 8.8.11 Patch 4 to 8.8.12. It seems like Patch 1 is included in the download that is located at https://files.zimbra.com/downloads/8.8.12_GA/zcs-8.8.12_GA_3794.UBUNTU14_64.20190329045002.tgz. Zimbra version Release 8.8.12.GA.3794.UBUNTU14.64 UBUNTU14_64 FOSS edition, Patch...

Re: DNS cache seems corrupt

It could be something on the firewall. It's an older Cisco ASA 5505. However, I'm running a terminal monitor on it at the same time as doing a dig query and I don't see any traffic being blocked from the mail server. The failure occurs when I have zimbra's dnscache running. If I turn zimbra dnscache...

Re: DNS cache seems corrupt

More progress on this. I figured out that the dns caching server that is built into Zimbra is called unbound. I went into /opt/zimbra/conf/unbound.conf.in and changed the log level to from 1 (default) to 3. Restarted the DNScache service with /opt/zimbra/bin/zmdnscachectl restart I then grep'd the z...

Re: DNS cache seems corrupt

Wild guess in case you have a cached AAAA NS record present for aetna ...Do you have an ipv6 address on that nic? Does this work any better on the problem machine in failure mode? I double checked and IPV6 was disabled. Though when I did an $ifconfig, it did show a IPv6 address on Eth0. I used thes...
