Re: ZCS 8.8.15 considered harmful

I understand the support cycle and know the dates specified but there is never any feedback about the current on-premises deployment being continued. As I've mentioned many times, the lack of involvement in these forums shows utter contempt for the users and their problems. What is a "Zimbra X...

Re: I think I've done something dumb

did you disable TLS connection in your localconfig ? (zmlocalconfig) You need to set zimbrarequireinterprocesssecurity=0 to get it working again with that cert-hostname mismatch. No. I thought about it but wondered if that was likely to cause any issues in long term support. (ie is it going to be a...

I think I've done something dumb

When I first installed Zimbra as a trial back in 2011, I set the server up with the domain name zimbra.vm.home. Not my brightest move. It was on my home vm network and I wasn't planning to keep it around, so it kinda made sense at the time. When I decided to actually buy a NE license and put it into...

Well then, that makes me look pretty silly then. Still, not the first time I've gone and shot my mouth off. I apologise.

Had a look at the "Security Center - Zimbra Security - News & Alerts"

Just for a bit of a laugh, I thought I'd check out the "Security Center", which bills itself as "Join this group to get the latest news, updates and alerts about security issues affecting your Zimbra product." Last update "April 15, 2019 - Phil Pearl, Security Architect"...

Re: Zimbra Desktop Discontinued... Again?

While your Use Cases are not common in my experience I certainly understand why a fat client is appropriate in your company's situation. There are these days no shortage of free (Thunderbird) and paid email clients for Windows and Mac deployments, so you have very good choices. Right. I've been usi...

Re: Zimbra Desktop Discontinued... Again?

Curious why you feel you must have a fat client like Zimbra Desktop? The web interface is essentially identical to ZD and Zimbra 8 and modern browsers support offline usage (works great; I use it often when traveling). I love these questions because they force us to re-examine why we do what we do....
