I haven't used that library, because I'm essentially building what he made by scratch. I can recommend printing out the result of what you get back and see what specific data type it is and go from there.

I ended up figuring it out. To save other people some trouble, basically you need to send a <FolderActionRequest/> and grant the user that you want the calendar to be shared with read permissions on the calendar.
