Re: Zimbra 9 Modern Client in Network Edition Only

I was reading about the upcoming Zimbra 9 release in the public documentation being planned. In the documentation, I ran across the following presentation: https://zimbra.github.io/zimbra-9-beta/Whats%20New%20in%20Zimbra%20MWC.pdf Based on this presentation from March 2020, it looks like the upcomi...

Re: Public Bugzilla replaced with Private Jira, first move to closed source ?

Thread title is awfully prescient in hindsight, and it only took *checks watch* just over 3 years to finish the job.

Re: Zimbra 9 now available - in case anyone missed the blog post

Unbelievable. Well, believable, I suppose, given recent history, but still. I've been on the Zimbra bandwagon since the beta in 2005. I've deployed OSE servers and NE servers alike, but the viability of the OSE version for at least certain scenarios was the foundation of my committed support to Zimb...

Re: Zimbra dead?

Is there any hope? Or has Synacor killed off the future of, at the very least, the OSS version of Zimbra? Who can say? Unless you're an NE customer then Synacor doesn't even acknowledge that they have any forums. I've tried to make as much noise as I can but I get no response from anyone. I've also...

Zimbra dead?

So what's the deal, is Zimbra dead? Forums are dead, there's no guidance on roadmaps for years (basically at least since Synacor took over), existing features that were once free are now being put behind a paywall, new UI gets squashed, development of new features is nonexistent, blog just keeps tel...

Re: Zimbra Docs OSE?

I can't quite make out whether the new Zimbra Docs feature is NE only? Or OSE as well? There's some talk about licensing in the documentation, but I can't tell if it's telling you how it works if you have NE or that it *only* works if you have NE. According to this https://www.zimbra.com/email-serv...

Zimbra Docs OSE?

There's some talk about licensing in the documentation, but I can't tell if it's telling you how it works if you have NE or that it *only* works if you have NE. Also, it's mentioned that it's part of NG, but I've ...

Re: State of Universal UI ?

The point is that there is no communication, at all. I think this is the problem -- an "open core" project has to maintain a careful balance between enthusiasm about the open source core of the project and enough paywalled features (and/or support) to keep revenue flowing. More so probabl...

Re: State of Universal UI ?

Two concerns I have about this -- 1. Though I'm disappointed that Universal UI is gone, I read in another thread that there's something else new that may replace it, and someone mentioned it being an NG UI, as in I guess the NG modules? That's uh... fine, I guess, except that as far as I can tell, t...
