Re: Create account from CLI

It would be very helpful if you published a few examples, now that you've worked it out. Thanks.

Re: Restart Zimbra from another Linux user

Thank you very much. This works perfectly. I'm providing my script for others: # Ubuntu OS update on Zimbra server # https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Best_Practices_for_executing_Package_Updates # TG 2019/06/27 # Stop all zimbra processes sudo -u zimbra /opt/zimbra/bin/zmcontrol stop # Restart LDAP so u...

[SOLVED] Restart Zimbra from another Linux user

Following wiki advice, I'm trying to ensure that Zimbra 8.8.12 Beta for Ubuntu is in a proper state when updating Ubuntu 18.04. In short we need to stop all Zimbra services, restart LDAP and ConfigD, then do the update/upgrade, then restart all Zimbra services. I had to start looking for a solution ...

Disposable Email Accounts

I use commercial services for disposable email accounts (also called 'anonymous'). This is for personal, legitimate usage, not for spam, abuse, avoiding responsibilities, or other nefarious purposes. Examples: At the consumer store for goods or services they may ask for an email address. Every websi...

Feedback on Zimbra after 1 year

I thought I'd post a note here about my experience with Zimbra over the last year, for anyone considering using it, and for those who support it. My first inquiry was in this thread a little over a year ago, Absolute Noob - Is Zimbra right for me? . I'll tell you now, the answer is yes. I have one i...

SMTP mail not saved to Sent Folder

If I send email via Outlook+IMAP/SMTP, the Sent folder gets a copy. Same if I send from the web UI. But if I use PHP_Mailer with the same socket, user, psw, the mail does go through but without a copy saved in Sent. I've tried adding a Filter for Outbound, with Recipient header contains "."...

Re: Peer review for backup plan

Thanks guys. As to my question #2 about incremental updates: Whatever is happening internally, I've observed that it takes the same amount of time to rsync --sparse whether locally or remotely. I'll cron mdb_copy on the Zimbra system shortly before the remote system comes in to pull out the files. S...

Re: ZCS 8.8.9 : CentOS to Ubuntu

I hear ya guys. Sincere thanks as always. No, it's not "really, really, really" bugging me. So I'll leave the existing installation for now. But every time I want to setup a new boot process, or cron, or load a package or whatevah, I find I need to shift mental gears to remember ...

Re: Block SPAM email from new domains?

I was intrigued by your inquiry here. I feel like my hands are tied when it comes to AS/AV. I believe the answer to extend beyond SA regex rules is to create a custom plugin. I'm an experienced developer but I know nothing about SpamAssassin rules. However with a little searching I found some hits t...

ZCS 8.8.9 : CentOS to Ubuntu

I originally installed Zimbra over CentOS because (it seems) most of the notes in the wiki and forum focus on platform-specific details for CentOS. While I do like CentOS, I only have one CentOS in my network right now and that's only for Zimbra - all the rest are Ubuntu. (Which is weird because I s...
