    After I do the 32 to 64-bit migration, then upgrade to 8.0.3 and upgrade Ubuntu to 12.04 LTS.

    I did have my DNS running and correctly identifying the host, despite what the logs may say.

    Here is what the hosts file on that computer looks like:
